What is it like to work with Always Typing Resumes?
Always Typing Resumes consistently receives 5-𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 (★★★★★) reviews for the resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn optimization work we do.
Each client receives 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 and 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 help from a highly trained and professional resume writer.
Your resume, cover letter, and/or LinkedIn optimization project typically begins with a review of your current resume (though some people skip this step).
Once you choose the service package you’d like, the first draft of your resume is delivered within 3 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬.
From there, you’ll enter the highly collaborative revision phase. While you are afforded unlimited revisions, most clients’ projects are complete after only 1 or 2 rounds.
Once the resume is finalized any supplemental documents (e.g., cover letters and LinkedIn optimization documents) are delivered within 2 business days.

For which fields can Always Typing write resumes?
One of the biggest misconceptions about resume writing is that your writer has to work in your industry. That’s rarely the case.
A professional resume writer’s job isn’t to be an engineer, nurse, accountant, or construction manager. It’s to understand how employers evaluate candidates and communicate your value in language that hiring managers understand.
Over the years, Always Typing Resumes has written resumes for executives, engineers, IT professionals, healthcare workers, educators, attorneys, finance professionals, manufacturing leaders, skilled tradespeople, military veterans, and many more … all over the world.
Every project begins the same way: understanding what you’ve accomplished and translating that experience into a compelling career story.
Do you use AI to write resumes?
Yes, but probably not in the way you’re thinking.
Let’s be honest. AI has a bit of a reputation in the resume writing industry right now. Many resume writing companies are hesitant to admit they use it at all because clients worry they’re paying hundreds of dollars for something that was generated in a few minutes by ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude.
That’s a legitimate concern.
Here’s how Always Typing Resumes uses AI:
- Human consultation
- Understand your goals.
- Ask you questions about achievements from your career.
- Learn your career story.
- AI-assisted gap analysis
- Use AI to compare your current resume against target roles and job descriptions.
- Have AI identify missing information (the gaps).
- Human writing
- Assess your strengths, achievements, and career goals.
- Compare those insights against the AI-generated gap analysis.
- Determine the best way to position you to impress prospective employers.
- Interpret your career story through the lens of what future employers want to see.
- Develop a strategic career narrative.
- Write and refine your resume.
- Tailor messaging for your target role.
- Ensure every section supports your positioning.
- AI-assisted validation
- Request AI stress test the new resume against your job targets to check alignment.
- Pressure-test the final resume to identify weaknesses before employers do.
- Human approval
- Analyze AI stress-test output to determine required changes and rewriting opportunities.
- Leverage a decade plus of experience, judgment, and strategy to decide what stays and what goes.
The thinking is simple:
If employers are using AI to evaluate resumes, Always Typing should be using it to challenge them before they ever reach a recruiter or hiring manager.
Think of AI as another set of eyes.
I don’t expect it to replace my judgment any more than I would expect spellcheck to replace a professional editor. It’s a tool that helps me identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and validate my work before I deliver it to you.
At the end of the day, you’re not hiring Always Typing Resumes because we have access to AI. Everyone has access to AI. You’re hiring a strategy expert who knows what questions to ask, how to interpret your experience, how to position your career story, and when to ignore what AI gets wrong.
Am I guaranteed to get a job with my new resume?
There would be no way for us to guarantee that you get a job because so much more than just your resume goes into earning a job offer — like how well you interview.
So, while we can’t guarantee that you’ll get a job, we do guarantee that you’ll see an increase in interviews.
If you do not see an increase in interviews within 60 days, send us an email and we’ll rewrite your resume for free.
What if I need a service that isn't listed on the website?
The Always Typing Resumes website includes the services clients request most often, but career transitions aren’t one-size-fits-all. If you need something you don’t see listed, just ask.
Over the years, we’ve helped clients with everything from interview coaching and resume tailoring for specific job opportunities to executive biographies, speaker bios, networking strategies, career repositioning, and other custom career documents. If it involves presenting your professional experience in the best possible light, there’s a good chance I can help.
If you’re not even sure what you need, that’s okay too.
Many clients contact us thinking they need a completely new resume, when a LinkedIn optimization, interview coaching session, or targeted resume update would better accomplish their goals. You’ll always get a recommendation for what you need, not simply the most expensive option.
If your needs fall outside the services listed on the website, just send an email to discuss your goals and create a customized solution.
How do I collaborate with my writer?
The best resumes aren’t created in isolation, they’re built through collaboration.
You know your career better than anyone else. Always Typing Resumes knows how recruiters, hiring managers, and ATS systems evaluate resumes. When we combine your firsthand experience with our resume-writing expertise, that’s when the magic happens.
The process is designed to be as easy as possible.
Once you purchase your service, you’ll complete a brief intake questionnaire and upload your current resume (if you have one). I’ll review everything you’ve provided and follow up with additional questions when I need more detail about your achievements, career goals, leadership experience, or the impact you’ve made throughout your career.
Don’t worry if you don’t remember every metric or accomplishment right away. One of my strengths is asking the kinds of questions that help clients remember projects, results, and successes they hadn’t thought about in years.
Most communication takes place through email, giving you the flexibility to respond when it’s convenient for you. If I need clarification on something, I’ll reach out. Likewise, you’re always welcome to ask questions or request changes during the revision process.
The goal isn’t simply to produce a polished resume. It’s to make sure your resume accurately reflects your career story and positions you for the opportunities you’re pursuing.
Do I really need a professional-written resume?
Maybe. Maybe not.
That’s probably not the answer you expected from a professional resume writer, but it’s the honest one.
A professionally written resume is a worthwhile investment if your current resume isn’t generating interviews, you’re changing careers, you’re targeting a promotion, you’re re-entering the workforce, or you’re struggling to communicate the value you’ve brought to previous employers.
On the other hand, if you’re already landing interviews consistently, your resume may be doing exactly what it should. In that case, you might benefit more from interview coaching, LinkedIn optimization, or another career service instead of paying for a complete rewrite.
That’s one of the reasons Always Typing Resumes offers a free resume review.
If your resume only needs a few updates, this is the best way to find out. Likewise, if there’s a potential issue with your interview performance or LinkedIn profile, you’ll find that out, too.
Our goal isn’t to sell you a service you don’t need, it’s to help you get where you’re trying to go. Your job is one of the most important decisions you’ll make in your life. The last thing you need is to waste time following inaccurate advice or paying for services that won’t solve the real problem.
If you’re unsure where to start, submit your current resume for a free review to learn what’s what’s working, what isn’t, and find out the approach that gives you the best chance of reaching your career goals.
Is there a refund policy?
While no customer has ever requested a refund, we understand the possibility of this occurring does exist. Always Typing will provide a refund if you want to cancel the order before you receive the first draft.
After delivery of the first draft, you are afforded unlimited revisions until you’re completely satisfied. If something happens and you aren’t seeing an increase in the number of interviews, then we’ll do a rewrite for free — within 60 days.
If you’re unsure whether hiring a resume writer is the right move for you, please feel free to take advantage of our free review of your current resume. That process will give you more details about what to expect when working with Always Typing.
Why are your prices higher than some other resume writers?
Resume writing isn’t just about putting words on a page. It’s about understanding hiring practices, positioning your experience, asking the right questions, and communicating your value in a way that resonates with ATS systems, recruiters, and hiring managers.
Always Typing Resumes doesn’t outsource projects, rely on AI to write your resume, or rush through dozens of clients each week. Every resume is strategically developed, collaboratively refined, and personally written by one person.
For many clients, a new job means a significant increase in salary. Viewed that way, a professionally written resume isn’t an expense, it’s an investment in your career.
